He is only four. He has been bringing home multiplication he worked on at school.
I want to say thank you to Jack’s teachers. When I went through his folder this weekend I was shocked at how good his handwriting is now. He just finished reading a shark book to me that I had no idea he could read and is well over the average four year old’s ability. He amazes me. He is only four. He has been bringing home multiplication he worked on at school. I know none of this would be possible without his wonderful teachers at Richmond Hill. We do not do a lot of extra at home, other than reading at bed time, so I know what he has learned is through school. Thank you!

I credit her wonderful, loving, and patient teachers for her change.
Richmond Hill has been a great experience for us. I am extremely impressed with the teachers and the curriculum that they follow. The clasrooms are big and bright and well-maintained. This is important to me as a parent since we had been to other facilities nearby that had rooms half the size and more kids than they should be allowed to have. The Montessori materials are vast and keep the kids interested and focused. They have many teachers with long tenures and all of them are equally precious. The directors know all the parents and kids by name and are very involved in keeping their school top-notch.
My 5 1/2 year old can read well above his grade-level and the same goes for his math skills. The Elementary room teachers are kind and encouraging and have nurtured his interest in science, geography, literature, and other subjects. We are very pleased with his progress during his time at Richmond Hill.
My 20 month-old has blossomed in more ways than one. She came to Richmond Hill a shy, quiet little girl and is now independent, clever, and talks up a storm. I credit her wonderful, loving, and patient teachers for her change.
As a working mom, it was a relief to find Richmond Hill, where I felt my kids would be safe and well cared for. We want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

None of the other schools made us feel at home the way Richmond Hill did, and after all the searching the decision was easy.
When we were looking for an educational program for our three precious little ones, we toured half a dozen different schools of different sizes, teaching styles and price ranges. None of the other schools made us feel at home the way Richmond Hill did, and after all the searching the decision was easy. The Montessori style really appeals to us and complements our parenting style, and out children have all thrived in the system. They shock us every week with the progression of their skills. They all three look forward to going to school every day, and they come home each day happy and tired from the excitement of learning and playing with friends. We have been most impressed by the warmth of the teachers and staff, who clearly and deeply care for our children and give us great comfort that capable and kind hands are guiding them during their first and most impressionable experiences with education. Thank you, Richmond Hill for helping to make the preschool years rewarding and free from drama!

I am happy that I do not have to trade-off nurturing and individuality for a high quality learning environment.
Prior to enrolling at Richmond Hill Montessori, I talked to other parents, scoured the internet, and visited at least 5 schools. In searching for a school, I found some that I immediately eliminated and I found high quality options that would have been acceptable. However, I always felt like something was missing or that there was some type of trade-off (uniforms, etc.). When I visited RHM and talked to other parents, I realized that the other schools were missing the nurturing that my child needs and were not as focused on the individual child.
My daughter has now been enrolled at RHM for 3 months. She seems to be soaking up information, learning new skills, and enjoying time at school with her teachers and classmates. I am happy that I do not have to trade-off nurturing and individuality for a high quality learning environment. When I leave my daughter, I can completely trust that she is safe, cared for and loved. I never doubt that she is going to be fine. The teachers and staff expect the kids to act with respect and model that behavior with the kids.
Richmond Hill is a hidden gem tucked away off the beaten path. The teachers and staff are dedicated, caring professionals who understand and love the children.

Each child is treated in a manner that meets their individual needs, both emotionally and academically.
The moment I walked in to Richmond Hill I was taken by the home-like atmosphere. It didn’t have the “institutional” feel of the other schools we visited. Plus the smaller size appealed to me. The other schools we visited had dozens of classrooms, large class sizes and masses of children. I liked the intimate, homey atmosphere of Richmond Hill. I also appreciated the offer to allow my child to come test out the new environment before making our final decision. And after all the prior investigation, it was apparent that Richmond Hill offers an authentic Montessori experience. Where many schools today have “Montessori” in their name, Richmond Hill maintains a true Montessori curriculum.
My expectations of the school have definitely been met. The teachers and staff are all warm and knowledgeable. In just a few weeks in the new environment my child started to display a new-found independence. We love the warm, home-like atmosphere and smaller size. I also appreciate the patience and attention the staff displays with my child. Each child is treated in a manner that meets their individual needs, both emotionally and academically. There is a healthy balance of professionalism and warmth at Richmond Hill. I drop my child off each day with confidence, knowing he is in a nurturing environment where he is free to be himself and learn at a pace that suits his individual needs.

The continual retention of the staff for each classroom from one year to the next is amazing.
Richmond Hill has been a blessing for my family. I enrolled my daughter at 20 months after moving her from a larger Montessori school environment. The size of each classroom and and the teacher to student ratio is almost unheard of in private preschools. The continual retention of the staff for each classroom from one year to the next is amazing. Because of the consistency in teaching personnel, my daughter knows her same teachers will be with her as she enters the classroom and will remain with her until she leaves at the end of each day. This provides great benefit in her education, as the teachers know which areas she has mastered and those that require further development. I have watched my child blossom and I attribute that to the staff at Richmond Hill.
Parents who are considering Richmond Hill should know that if they desire a private school that will provide their children a solid educational foundation, following the true Montessori curriculum, as well as nurture and build their confidence as independent little people, then Richmond Hill is the school of choice!

As a working parent, it is important, and reassuring, to know that my kids are happy during the day and learning.
I looked at about nine schools in the Plano area before enrolling at Richmond Hill. I chose Richmond Hill because I liked the way they balance between Montessori teaching methods and the modern world. I also thought the size of the school was perfect. My second choice Montessori school had facilities for close to 200 kids and felt too big. I also like the consistency of the teachers, which is very important to me. The school we attended previously in Austin was closed for summer, breaks, holidays, constantly. It was very difficult as a working parent, and when we moved to Plano I did not even consider schools like that. I love RHM’s calendar and hours. The final determining factor for me was that I had a strong recommendation from a parent of a current student.
My expectations of RHM were that my kids would be safe, learning, and happy. All three expectations have been met. Since my son started four months ago, he has learned to count to ten, his colors, some of his letter sounds, and has made huge progress. We are very impressed. My daughter has continued to progress with her reading and math skills. Both kids love their teachers. My daughter likes to pretend like she is one of her teachers and emulate what she sees at school. That, and the fact that she does not want to leave three days out of five, give me great comfort, knowing she is happy there. I am starting to see some of the same things in my son, where he wants to stay at school because he is having so much fun. I always know the kids are safe at school. I feel the balance of Jayne and Vickie make a good team for running the school, and I have trust the kids’ safety is the top priority, as witnessed during the recent tornado situation.

The teachers and staff at Richmond Hill really care about the kids.
Before enrolling at Richmond Hill we considered other Montessori schools, as well as other private and public schools. We selected Richmond Hill because of their educational philosophy, their teachers, and the school environment. Our two children have been attending Richmond Hill now for almost two years. We are very happy with the teaching style, the relationship the teachers and staff have with our children, and the attention our children receive. We feel that it is the staff that makes the experience for us and for our kids so great. Our kids love school and as parents we feel that the teachers and the staff are partners.
Parents considering Richmond Hill should know that what your kids will learn is phenomenal! And the manner in which they will learn is seamless – they think they are playing, so they will like to learn. The teachers and staff at Richmond Hill really care about the kids. Plus, the school’s hours are great for working parents.
